Placing found objects in with the modelled sculpture is to honour these things, and to use them as background to a foreground. Existing objects are recast alongside new made parts. Thus an Italian votive offering is copied so as to be held in the fingers of a hand, which lets the viewer see two very different ideas. And my own sculptures can be reused with new elements added.

To view an artwork is to see it first one way, and then another. And this shift in perception is where the sculpture comes to life.
