“The two works in my exhibition (‘Bright and Early’ & ‘All the Things’) developed after the wonderful experience of picking Saffron locally.
Every day for eight weeks of the year, one to two thousand crocus flowers pop up and three stigma threads (Saffron) are picked from each one. These are then dried to produce the most amazing spice – Saffron has an incredible smell and taste, which led to my burning desire
to paint.”
