“Hazelnuts were the starting point for this warm work.
I felt very inspired after being shown around a beautiful nut orchard, Central Nuts, along the road from me in Alexandra, Central Otago. That experience led to a lot of cooking! - roasted hazelnut and raspberry cake and so much more.
It was only once I’d totally reacquainted myself with this beautiful nut, that I was ready to start painting.
I’ll Bring Dessert was the painting that came from that hazelnut experience".
