Underneath the painted surface of Weston Frizzell works, the remixing of New Zealand art with commercial culture occurs. Extending an artistic tradition beginning with Jackson Pollock, Otis and Mike use paints more commonly found on the outside of houses and cars than in artworks. Often these are glossy, vintage enamels and specialist industrial coatings found on one of their regular excursions to recycled paint dumps.
